VENUE FOCUS

Playsport Golf > Home to the 2023 JGS Ryder Cup

The Playsport Golf Heritage Links course is a wonderful par 32 test of your game with rolling hills, undulating fairways, huge USGA specification greens and 51 bunkers to ensure every aspect of your game is brought into play.

Inspired by some of the most famous and finest holes from Open Championship Golf, our Heritage Links course brings all this together with an excellent layout and the best views over East Kilbride and beyond.

Played from the red and yellow tees, golfers of all levels will enjoy the rolling fairways and generous greens. Played from the whites and our matchplay ‘Tiger Tees’, the course takes on a whole new challenge and provides a much stiffer test of your game, requiring accuracy and confidence with the driver.

With fantastic drainage and USGA specification tees and greens, Heritage Links is a genuine year round course.

Over two levels, our 56 fully covered and floodlit bays are the ideal place to hone your skills and work on your swing all powered by Toptracer. The large island green is a replica of the famous 17th from TPC Sawgrass and all our bays have accurate measurements to various colour coded targets. With top quality mats and balls, the driving range at Playsport Golf is a great place to practice.

THROW BACK THURSDAY

Our first event > April 2016

Our very first event was back in April of 2016 at Broadlees Golf Range in Strathaven…Year 1 of the tour looked very different from what the tour has become in 2023! There was a total of 4 events, Broadlees, Playsport Golf, Mearns Castle Golf Academy and Paisley Golf Club for the season finale.

Firstly, it’s amazing to see just how far cameras have come in the last 7 years! Secondly, if you can make out the pictures, you might even see a few faces you recognise…yes some of the golfers in the above images are still participating in our events! Back in the day we were known as the Junior Flag Challenge, that name kind of stuck for a while but as the juniors ability grew, so did we! We became the Junior Flag and Stableford Challenge, then eventually in 2020 we became Junior Golf Scotland. It is great to look back on these events and see just how many junior golfers have participated in our events….we haven’t been able to keep in touch with them all but I am sure they are still getting out and playing golf to this day!
